Temp To Perm: Snapshot DNA Case Manager

Parabon NanoLabs, based in Reston, Virginia, seeks an Account Specialist to help promote the Parabon® Snapshot® Advanced DNA Analysis Service ("Snapshot"), which includes genetic genealogy, DNA phenotyping, and kinship inference.
Snapshot takes advantage of modern SNP technology, translating select biomarkers from a DNA sample (taken from a crime scene) into information that helps law enforcement officials identify victims of crime and perpetrators. Learn more at https://snapshot.parabon-nanolabs.com/.
This is a temporary position that has the potential to turn into full time employment in late Dec 2018 or mid January 2019.
In order to be effective in the position, the candidate will ideally have:
- at least three (3) years professional work experience performing DNA extraction for criminal cases and/or performing hands on genotyping laboratory work. This is NOT a laboratory position, but the ideal candidate will need this type of knowledge and experience in order to be immediately effective in the position; AND,
- at least (5) years of professional work experience in the criminal justice or DNA-related field after graduating college; AND,
- ability to demonstrate attention to detail (e.g., experience successfully performing QC audits or data integrity oversight).
- The person who is hired must work in the office in Reston, Virginia during normal daytime business hours.
Responsibilities
- Serve as primary point of contact with detectives/investigators, DNA analysts, and genotyping technicians
- Evaluate and select DNA samples that will be analyzed by the Snapshot DNA Phenotyping Service
- Perform quality control procedures on Snapshot reports
- Brief law enforcement agencies on Snapshot analysis results
- Manage trade show contracts, association relationships and logistics associated with law enforcement and forensic conferences, including set-up and staffing of tradeshow booths
- Schedule and provide Snapshot briefings and demonstrations (in-person and via video conference) to law enforcement and forensic personnel
- Develop and execute Snapshot-related marketing and communication plans
- Assist with the development of Snapshot-related marketing content (print and digital)
- Use social media tools to promote the Snapshot service
- Use customer relationship management (CRM) software tools on a daily basis to increase business development, marketing and sales effectiveness
- Meet and monitor business development and sales targets
- Develop and manage strategic and channel partnerships
- Perform customer outreach, respond to sales inquiries, and assist with order fulfillment
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in marketing or a relevant industry field, such as criminal justice, forensic sciences, or life sciences
- Experience working with law enforcement personnel and/or forensic laboratories
- Broad understanding of the criminal investigation process
- Strong verbal and written communication skills [English] and ability to interact with and educate law enforcement personnel, forensic scientists and laboratory personnel about the capabilities and benefits of Snapshot
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in using Microsoft office tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Highly organized and ability to work independently
- Willingness to travel to support marketing events (~15% of time)
