at the International Symposium on Human Identification (#ISHI26)

Greytak invited to discuss the company's revolutionary Snapshot DNA Phenotyping Service for predicting ancestry and physical appearance from DNA

12 Oct 2015

Reston, Va. — Parabon NanoLabs (Parabon) Director of Bioinformatics, Dr. Ellen McRae Greytak, will deliver a talk entitled DNA Phenotyping: Predicting Ancestry and Physical Appearance from Forensic DNA on 15 October at 9 a.m. at the 26th Annual International Symposium on Human Identification (#ISHI26). Parabon will also be exhibiting in booth 321 at the symposium, which will be held 12–15 October 2015 at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas.

Dr. Greytak serves as the scientific lead for Parabon's Snapshot Forensic DNA Phenotyping Service. Parabon unveiled Snapshot last December, after four years of development with funding support from the US Department of Defense. She will discuss the Snapshot research program and how the service is being actively used by law enforcement.

The ISHI conference attracts attendees from around the world in fields such as medicine, forensics, anthropology, and law enforcement. Now in its 26th year, ISHI has witnessed new technologies, changing policies, and new trends in forensics. Over 100 scientific poster presentations will occur over the 3-day event, and more than 50 vendors in the fields of forensics, DNA analysis, evidence collection, and DNA phenotyping will attend. On being invited to present at the conference, Greytak said, "ISHI is one of the premier forensic conferences in the US and an outstanding venue through which to promote new technologies like Snapshot. We are most pleased to have the opportunity to present and exhibit at this year's event."
